Tiki Time!!
Wow!! Has this weather been screwy, or what?? I woke up last Monday, it was bitter cold with winter storm warnings. By early afternoon, it was warming up and the snow was starting to melt. Around dinnertime, it was getting cold again with a light snowfall. So light, in fact, that you could almost count each snowflake as it fell.

I was watching the news the other night and guess what they were discussing!! You got it, all this damn snow!! By the end of December we'd already had more snowfall than we normally get in the whole season!! Is that nuts or what?? One report said it was the most snow we've gotten since the Blizzard of ' 77. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of snow!! It's Jamaican me Krazy!!
Jamaican me Krazy
2 oz Jamaican rum
1 oz coconut rum
1 oz crème de cacao
1 oz banana liqueur
2 oz cream
2 tsp gold rum
6 oz crushed ice
Procedure: Combine all ingredients, except gold rum, in a mixer and blend until smooth. Pour into a chilled hurricane glass and float the gold rum on top. Garnish with a fruit slice and mini umbrella.
Note: If you don't have a hurricane glass, you can use a basic cocktail glass, but you will need to cut the recipe in 1/2.

I was feeling a little under the weather the other day (all possible puns intended.) Like I said, all this snow is getting me down! Instead of letting it get the best of me, I decided too surf the web. Just when I'd entered my favorite site, I heard the mailman at the door and got up to see what interesting things he brought me today. Bill... Bill... Bill... Large package! This HAD to be something grand!! I ripped it open to see what was inside. A book. A book but not just ANY book. A book on Tiki drinks!! Just what the doctor ordered! Something to chase my blues away!! If I wasn't in Acapulco, at least I could drink one!!
Acapulco
1 1/2 oz rum
1/2 oz triple sec
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 tsp sugar
1 egg white
1 mint leaf
Procedure: Combine all ingredients, except mint leaf, in a cocktail shaker with cracked ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a mint leaf.
