Thanksgiving's just around the corner and what are you going to do to make that extra special turkey this year? Last week we introduced you to a technique known as flavor injection, a pretty simple and effective way to marinate larger cuts of meat. This week's technique is just as delicious and versatile.
25 medium whole bay leaves
3 tbsp. Creole seasoning
3 tsp. dried thyme
3 tsp. dried oregano
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. onion powder
1 1/2 tsp. black peppercorns
What a tasty way to treat your turkey! But now that we have some good eats, we need some equally good drinks. One of the things I look forward to in the fall is hot apple cider. I just don't think it would be autumn without it.
2 oz rum
3 oz apple cider
1/2 oz lime juice
If you prefer a warm treat, heat cider over low heat and combine all ingredients in a mug. Stir and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Mmmm! Forget the coffee and tea, hot cider and cinnamon is my preferred way to finish off a delicious meal. I think I'll be stopping by the farmer's market later today to get me a fresh jug.
