Election Day
Well, Election Day is right around the corner and tomorrow millions of Americans will be going to the voting booth, closing the curtain behind them and casting their vote. Who will you be choosing? Will it be the Democrats and Al Gore, the Republicans and George W. Bush, or will you cast a vote of conscience for a smaller third party? Who will you be sending to Washington? More importantly, after you cast your vote, who will you be making a Washington cocktail for?
Washington Cocktail
2 oz dry vermouth
1 oz brandy
1 tsp fine sugar
dash Angostura bitters
Procedure: Combine all ingredients in a shaker with cracked ice. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

As I sit here watching The Quick and the Dead on TBS, I can't help but notice all the subtle and not so subtle mud-slinging that goes on in political commercials. How can we trust them when most are "Paid for by the friends of [your favorite politician here?]" Do we really need all this political name-calling to decide who should be elected? I always thought it was about who was best qualified, and not simply about who can dig up the most dirt on their opponent. Ah well, I guess it's better than it was in times past. It is said that our 2nd drink this evening is named after Boston's Ward Eight, known many years ago for it's hotly contended political elections.
Ward Eight
1 1/4oz Whiskey
4 dashes grenadine
1oz lemon juice, or the juice of 1/2 a lemon
Procedure: Combine all ingredients in a shaker with cracked ice. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Looks like some of the site conversion took a little longer then planned, but it's all finished now. I hope you enjoy the funky new look. In the coming weeks we'll be revising our content as well as adding plenty of new info. Change can be a good thing and we think the changes at iBoozer, much like Frosted Flakes, are GRRRRRREAT!!!

Cheers,
